Gravel road hums beneath clicking spurs,
Dust rides high where the sundown stirs.
Color turned up against the fading light, head brim low,
Steady through the night.
Where two roads meet, two worlds collide,
Dust and the elements side by side.
Two different roads,
One common ground; together we forge a different sound.
Hood pulled forward,
No face to find; weathered staff marks the edge of time.
Rows of teeth lay guard at my side,
Even the darkness knows to hide.
