Shifty Brent - Stay Until the Kettle Sings

The clock above the doorway skips a second every time it turns.
You trace the rim around your cup and watch the little candle burn.
Stay until the kettle sings,
Stay while this old room turns to blue.
I don't need the morning yet,
If I can spend this hour with you.
No grand promise, no parade,
Just your sleeve against my own.
Let the rain keep making time while the rest of town goes home.
Stay until the kettle sings,
Stay while this old room turns to blue.
